Introduction

A couple of my passions are books and movies. Books are my place to go to when I want to be lost in another world. They take me to places that I have never gone before. They take me back to the 1800’s where people lived in the prairies and worked hard and spent every minute they could with their families. My favorite author is a lady named Janette Oak, she is a Christian author and writes love stories that are set in the late 1800’s. Books can take me into people’s hearts and minds and I start to feel what they are feeling. There are times when I felt that I knew a person when I would read an autobiography because they shared so much of their life in the book. Biographies and autobiographies can be hard sometimes because some parts of the book can tend to be boring and other parts may disappoint you. Knowing details about someone’s life can be disappointing.

Movies are great entertainment and this is a good way to settle down after along hard day of school or work. The movies that I am most interested in are romance movies. I like The Notebook, the Twlight series, and several other romantic movies. Comedy is another one of my favorite genres. The Proposal is one of my absolute favorite movies. This movie has kept me laughing throughout the entire move. The year 2010 has some exciting prospects of movies coming out and I can not wait to see them. The only thing that I wish is that theater ticket prices were more affordable.

  1. I could not agree more there are so many great movies coming out, but who can afford to see them in the theater. The newest movie that I have seen that I really enjoyed was Sherlock Holmes. I bet you would enjoy it to. It is a mix of romance, comedy, and suspense.

  2. I agree that books and movies can be a great way to escape everyday life. I like to read the books that movies are based on. Have you seen THE TIME TRAVELER"S WIFE? They did a fairly good job capturing the essence of the book; but, I still recommend reading the book. There is SO much in the book that simply can't be conveyed in the movie.

  3. I love reading only if its not for school. I can sit down and read a book in 1 or 2 days as long as I have no distractions. New movies are the best. I've heard a bunch of people say The Notebook is good. I've never seen it. I wish the movie ticket prices would go down too. They are only going to get more expensive as the years go on, unfortunately.

  4. I love to watch movies too. But It seems with school and my daughter I just can not make time to watch a good movie. I am glad to that you can. What is a great movie to view that would be appropriate for 5 year old?
